PWSD # 1 of Ste. Genevieve County was formed in 1967 to provide safe, clean water to the rural residents of Ste. Genevieve County. We proudly provide water for almost 2,000 customers. Our website offers information related to all aspects of our operation from billing information to Missouri Department of Natural Resources reports on our water quality.
The District provides ground-source well water pumped from 6 wells located throughout the District. The District currently utilizes 5 storage tanks. The District has the ability to pump almost 900,000 gallons of water per day and the capacity to store almost 500,000 gallons of water in our storage tanks.
PWSD # 1 is in compliance with the rules and regulations set forth by Missouri Department of Natural Resources. Per DNR requirements, water samples are taken from various locations in the District each month and sent to a certified laboratory for testing. Our manager and field employees are certified by the State of Missouri as Distribution System Professionals. All employees attend training to keep up to date with regulations and changes in the industry.
The District is overseen by a five member Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is elected by you, the voters, in our water district. Our district is divided into five sub-districts. One board member represents each sub-district.
At PWSD #1 of Ste. Genevieve County, our goal is to provide safe, clean, sparkling water to all of our residents!
